The projects in the Infrastructure investment cluster delivered improvements in transport infrastructure, energy infrastructure, harbour and port infrastructure and vessel modernisation, to remove barriers to economic regeneration.

Due to Cornwall's peripherality, improving the transport infrastructure was identified as essential to delivering the Programme. Journey times can be a deterrent to inward investment and limit the accessibility to markets and the full range of services available in the UK.
