Funding approval for further Objective One projects recommended
Funding for eight Objective One projects worth over £3.7 million was recommended for approval at yesterday’s (Thursday’s) meeting of the programme’s Working Group.
Four projects costing a total of £6.5 million were recommended for grants of over £3.1 million from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
Three projects costing a total of £660,000 were recommended for grants of over £290,000 from the European Social Fund (ESF) and one project was recommended for £250,000 from the European Agricultural Guidance and Guarantee Fund (EAGGF).
Details of individual projects will be announced in due course once any necessary legal and financial conditions are agreed.
The Working Group also recommended approval for £1.7 million in funding for technical assistance to support the delivery of the programme.
The Working Group is the body that makes the final recommendation on approving Objective One programmes and ensures all applications are of a consistent standard and effectively address the programme’s cross cutting themes of environmental sustainability, equal opportunities and information communications technology.
Following a recommendation of approval, any necessary legal and financial condition will need to be agreed with applicants before offer letters or contracts are then sent out.
The Working Group first met on 28th September, at which meeting 14 projects worth around £8 million in European funding were recommended for approval. The next meeting of the Working Group will take place on 14th December.
Details of four ESF projects recommended for approval have already been announced.
