New Objective One Fisheries Programme Manager

South West PESCA Ltd’s Objective One Fisheries Programme Manager, Alison Elvey is swapping her briefcase for a backpack to embark on a travelling trip around South America. Alison will be handing the reins over to Clare Leverton on the18th of August.

After running both the PESCA programme and now the Objective One Fisheries Programme for 6 years Alison has decided to step down to fulfil her dream of travelling. She will be exploring South America and hopefully secure some work in fishing while there.

Alison Elvey explained "I have really enjoyed working with the Cornish fishing industry over the last 6 years and I hope the industry will continue to use European funds to develop further. However, it's time for me to try something new and explore a bit of the world."

Clare Leverton, formerly of the Environment and Heritage Unit of Cornwall County Council has spent three weeks working with Alison, to prepare for the take over.

Clare Leverton stated "Two weeks into the job I can see great potential for the fishing industry to use Objective One for its benefit and future prosperity. I am looking forward to working with the key people and organisations around the county on making their ideas happen."

For further information please contact Alison Elvey or Clare Leverton at South West PESCA Ltd, Trevint House, Strangways Villas, Truro, Cornwall, TR1 2PA.
