Enterprise Court opens to public

Torpoint’s Enterprise Court is throwing its doors open to the public on Saturday 20 July so that local people can view the town’s newest asset close up.

Karon Shergold, business support adviser for the centre, said: “People are naturally curious about what Enterprise Court is like inside, and we’d like to give them the chance to see for themselves.”

Enterprise Court, which provides workspaces for small and medium businesses, officially opened on 12 July, and nine of its 28 units have already been let to local entrepreneurs. The centre will be home to everything from will writing services to art workshops and its conference facilities are already being used by Saltash College to run a course for women returning to work.

The £834,099 centre received Objective One funding via a unique partnership bid from Torpoint Town Council and Caradon District Council. Torpoint Town Council manages the facility, while Caradon was involved in its design and construction. Enterprise Court benefited from an Objective One European Regional Development Fund grant of £333,639 with Caradon providing match funding.

Business units at the centre range from 9.5m2 to 15m2 and include environmentally friendly features such as high energy efficiency, green electricity and rainwater recycling.

The open day runs from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon on Saturday 20 July. To find out more about the day or book a workspace, contact Karon Shergold on 01752 811100.
