Fourth year at Royal Cornwall for Objective One

The Objective One Programme for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly will be exhibiting at the Royal Cornwall Show this June, for the fourth year running.

Individuals are invited to visit stand number 82, which is next to the Duchy College buildings, to find out how Objective One is making a real difference to the people and businesses of Cornwall and Scilly.

Members of the Objective One Agricultural Development Team, headed by David Rodda, will be on hand to offer help and advice to agricultural businesses interested in accessing Objective One investment. Representatives from the Government Office for the South West and the South West Regional Development Agency will also be available to answer any questions.

Director of the Objective One Partnership Carleen Kelemen said: "We are always delighted to be at the Royal Cornwall Show as it presents us with a great opportunity to have one to one interaction with people who are interested in finding out what the Objective One Programme is buying for Cornwall.

"You will not need to look very far at the County Showground this year to see some of the business which have directly benefited from Objective One investment as there will be almost 30 Objective One assisted businesses in the food and farming marquee alone."

Since going 'live' in September 2000, the Objective One Programme has approved more than 344 projects across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly for more than £158 million of Objective One investment of which £21.7 million has been approved for agriculture-related projects.

David Rodda, senior agricultural co-ordinator for the Objective One Agricultural Development Team, said: "The agricultural development team are looking forward to an eventful three days at The Royal Cornwall Show this year. We are eager to provide information to the agricultural community about the many priority areas of Objective One EAGGF investment which are still actively encouraging applications.

"Visitors to our stand will be also be able to find out about the many ways that they can access Objective One investment through our gateway projects, which can offer assistance from investment support right through to agricultural skills training."
