Parish Skills Exchange
The Bodmin Moor and Camelford Partnership Team, are organising
a Parish Plans Skills Exchange event in conjunction with Community
Projects Trust and Cornwall Rural Community Council, which
will take place on Thursday 9 October 2003, at St Tudy Village
Hall, 10am 3pm.
The aim of the event is to bring together parishes who are
still unsure about what a parish plan is, how it can benefit
their community, and how to get started.
The aim of producing a parish plan is to determine what your
community feels it needs and identify the action required
to tackle the issues of concern. Through community involvement
and consultation, parish plans can outline how the community
wants to see itself developing over the coming years, and
what it needs to do to achieve these targets. It gives communities
more control over their future. The Countryside Agency is
offering up to £5,000 to each parish in order to carry
out this process.
The Skills Exchange event will be quite informal, giving
the opportunity to speak to different agencies, ask questions
about what parish plans are, why they are a good idea, and
who can help. There will also be the opportunity to speak
to parishes who have already completed and produced a parish
plan, and exchange ideas and learn from the experiences of
The event is completely free of charge. All we ask is that
you let us know if you would like to attend, by 1 October.
