Farm Energy Exhibition

The Cornwall Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group will be holding an information day looking at all forms of energy on the farm, from growing energy crops to saving energy use and road miles. The day is part of the Farm Environment Link Project and will be held at the Members Pavilion, Royal Cornwall Showground on Friday, 25th February 2005 from 10.00 until 4.00pm

Guest speakers will include:

Sir Ben Gill CBE
Andrew Kneeshaw of Farm Energy Services (highlighting where energy savings, and therefore costs, can be made)
Tim German of the Cornwall Sustainable Energy Partnership
William Garnier from the Cornwall Agricultural Council
Malcolm Shepherd of Wessex Grain
Roy Heath of NHS Food Partnership on Food Miles

The Environment Agency will be launching the Cornwall Miscanthus Growing Areas Map, which highlights those areas in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly which are deemed to be suitable for the cropping of miscanthus following research by the EA.

There will be trade stands and information on planning and investments. Entrance is free and there will be complimentary pasty lunch.

The FWAG Farm environment link project has received Objective One investment through European Agricultural Guidance and Guarantee Fund.

For further details, contact Jillie Dale, as below (I am on leave from 14th to 18th February) or if your request is urgent, contact the FWAG Farm Environment Link Office on 01872 224005.
