Cornwall's Wine and Fine Food Fair
Cornwall's first and biggest wine and food fair of
the year gets underway at St Mellion Golf and Country Club
near Saltash on Tuesday, 21 February. Billed as a 'fashion
week' preview for regional wine and food trends, the
two-day event has become an essential diary date for the region's
booming hospitality trade.
More than 300 wines from all over the world will be available
for sampling in the wine hall, plus meats, cheeses, chocolates
and lots more from some of Cornwall's top artisan food
producers in the food hall.
At the event – interviews, filming and photography
||David Hearnden of Castang Wine Shippers;
|| Angie Coombs of Taste of the West Cornwall;
||Local food producers;
|| 10 French wine producers here to talk directly to people
about their wines from the Rhone, Muscadet, Loire, Bergerac
and Burgundy regions;
||Chefs, restaurateurs and caterers all looking for local
suppliers and innovative products for this season's
wine lists and menus;
|| Wine broadcaster and writer Stephen Barrett and Cornwall's
only cheese monger Stephen Gunn – both at the event
delivering master classes.
The fair runs from 12.00 noon to 9.00pm on Tuesday 21
February, and 10.30am to 8.00pm on Wednesday 22 February.
Media attendance is welcome on both days.
